Providing a possible prognostic marker of Clorectal Cancer

TRIO is the large protein that functions as a RAC/RHO GEF (GTP exchange factor), and promotes reorganization of actin cytoskeleton, thereby playing a key role in cell migration and growth. It is one of the target protein of ABL, and phosphorylation at its Tyr residue 2681(pY2681) causes RHO activation in colorectal cancer cells. TRIO pY2681 correlates with significantly poorer prognosis with colorectal cancer patients after surgery.   ☞ more information
